- With a population of nearly 2500, Hazen has most everything the traveler needs including a well-rounded business district, a variety of restaurants, medical facilities and many other services.
- Hazen is located in the South Shore Region just minutes away from beautiful Lake Sakakawea.
- Hazen offers a wide variety of activities such as archery, biking and walking trails, softball and baseball, a skateboard park, golf, hockey and figure skating, sailing and camping. Arts include a community theater, the community concert series and the Knife River Chorale concert during the Christmas season. “Music in the Park” is held during the summer months at the Paul Weiser Memorial Park downtown or at the Heritage Park in Hazen. Food and beverages are served by local vendors followed by free entertainment provided by area musicians.

Hazen is nestled in the heart of the Sakakawea South Shore Region, just minutes from beautiful Lake Sakakawea, the Knife River Indian Villages NHS and several coal mines and energy plants. The town of 2500 has most everything the traveler needs including a well-rounded business district, a variety of restaurants, medical facilities and many other services. Hazen is located along Highway 200 midway between two North Dakota state designated Scenic Byways. Hazen was named for A.D. Hazen, who was third assistant postmaster general in the summer of 1884, when application was made for a post office.
